I enjoy researching the legends of land based treasures. (Spanish, Indian, Mexican, Mayan, etc.) Between 1500-1850AD. Trying to understand the messages and clues to where a possible treasure, of some kind, are concealed. Important enough for someone to "mark it", in some form or manner. This is not as easy as it appears to be. There is a lot to learn. And it is much easier to learn from my mistakes, than make them yourself. This will save you a lot of time.
I would like the Treasure Hunter's University (THU) to be the first stop, for anyone seeking information about treasure hunting. As this university continues to grow, there will be classrooms that are "under construction". So please bear with me. Check out some of the links for the information you seek. They may have what you need.
Every man, woman and child that use the outdoors*, should know about "Death Traps". The first known, actual photograph of a "Death Trap", was published in the Gold Prospector Jan/Feb 02 issue of the Treasure Hunter's University. You may just happen across one, in your outdoor adventures. These traps are real and they will squash you like a grape.
Traps were placed in and around mines and treasure sites, to protect them from, as the Spanish say: "Unordained to enter". If you do not know about these hazards, how can you protect yourself or your loved ones.
Have fun and remember, "Be Safe Out There" "Hawkeye"
*Treasure hunting, prospecting, metal detecting, rock hounding, gold mining, dredging, hiking, back packing, rock climbing, mountaineering, camping, mountain biking, recreation. The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other outdoor organizations should make their leaders and kids aware of the dangers that they face in "Hostile Environments". Always "BE PREPARED" . |
